Favorite Books of the Year

top 10

The year is coming to an end, in a few hours actually, and I thought I should make a wrap-up by listing my 10 favorite books of the year. It was a tough decision, and let me just note that picking only ten was seriously hard. Like really hard! …But here they are, in no particular order:

  1. On the Island by Tracey Garvis-Graves [Review]
  2. What a Boy Wants (What a Boy Wants #1) by Nyrae Dawn [Review]
  3. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
  4. Back to You by Priscilla Glenn [Review]
  5. Second Kiss by Natalie Palmer [Review]
  6. Easy by Tammara Webber [Review]
  7. Poison Princess (The Arcana Chronicles #1) by Kresley Cole
  8. Notes from the Blender by Trish Cook and Brendan Halpin [Review]
  9. Betwixt by Melissa Pearl [Review]
  10. Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days #1) by Susan Ee

……………………………..

There is not much left to say. 2012 has been a wonderful year in some aspects, and not so wonderful in others, but I’m grateful for everything. May 2013 be our best book year yet! There are plenty of books to look forward to, so let’s get on with it! 😉

Review: Back to You by Priscilla Glenn

Book: Back to You

Author: Priscilla Glenn

Published: October, 2012

My Rating: 5/5

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N

Book Description:

When Lauren Monroe first laid eyes on Michael Delaney back in high school, she had every reason to stay away from him; within minutes of their first encounter, his volatile actions confirmed his notorious reputation. But Lauren saw something in him that caused her to question his bad-boy persona, and against her better judgment, she took a chance. She had no way of knowing that the unlikely friendship they formed would become so important to her.

Or that it would end so painfully.

Eight years later, when Lauren begins her new job at Learn and Grow Day Care, Michael is the last person she expects to see. Refusing to revisit the hurt and confusion of their past, Lauren vows to keep her distance from him. But staying away from Michael proves to be more difficult than she thought, despite her lingering grief and her instincts for self-preservation.

As Lauren and Michael recall the friendship that changed them forever and the events that tore them apart, will they finally be able to heal? Or will the ghosts of Michael’s past prove to be too much to overcome?

My Review:

I think all the studying I’ve been doing, plus the excitement of finally having vacations burned my brain cells, hence why it took me so long to write a review… or trying to do it…

Here we go…

Wait. No. Before we get into it let me just say one thing: I fucking LOVED it. There. It’s done. Now I can move on.

Back To You was beyond amazing. An emotional rollercoaster on the best sense possible. It’s been a while since I finished it, like half a month, and I’m still all over the place just by remembering the amazingness of it all.

Well, I read it again between then and now actually, just so I could remember every detail perfectly, and cry again. I’m such a woos! Continue reading

Happy Holidays!

Hey everyone!

Christmas is almost over, or at least it is here, but I’d still love to wish you all a great time, and if it’s over already, then I hope you had the greatest of times with your friends and family. And let’s hope Santa left you lots of gifts, too, of course. 😉

And just in case my free times gets getting shorter and shorter I would like to wish you an amazing start of the new year. May it be filled with joy and happiness! 😀

We’ll be seeing each other! 😉

Until then.

Wait. Can I just say one more thing? Umm… if you said no, then know I’m going to say it anyways. You knew that right? Yeah.. So:

Until the next year!

Review: Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill

Book: Meant to Be

Author: Lauren Morrill

Published: November, 2012

My Rating: 5/5

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N

Book Description:

Meant to be or not meant to be . . . that is the question.

It’s one thing to fall head over heels into a puddle of hazelnut coffee, and quite another to fall for the—gasp—wrong guy. Straight-A junior Julia may be accident prone, but she’s queen of following rules and being prepared. That’s why she keeps a pencil sharpener in her purse and a pocket Shakespeare in her, well, pocket. And that’s also why she’s chosen Mark Bixford, her childhood crush, as her MTB (“meant to be”).

But this spring break, Julia’s rules are about to get defenestrated (SAT word: to be thrown from a window) when she’s partnered with her personal nemesis, class-clown Jason, on a school trip to London. After one wild party, Julia starts receiving romantic texts . . . from an unknown number! Jason promises to help discover the identity of her mysterious new suitor if she agrees to break a few rules along the way. And thus begins a wild goose chase through London, leading Julia closer and closer to the biggest surprise of all: true love.

Because sometimes the things you least expect are the most meant to be.

My Review:

Meant To Be was sweet, adorable, infuriating and amazing. You’ll see why…

Julia is a bookworm. There’s not really a better way to describe her. And I’m not saying that’s a bad thing, because saying so would be like offending myself, since I consider myself a bookworm to the bone.

Julia likes to read. She’s a Shakespeare lover. She’s a rule follower. And she hates flying, children and… Jason Lippincott.

On her spring break trip to London, all Julia wants is to explore the city and all the magnificent places her guidebooks tell her about. Not to mention visit all the places her parents visited on their honeymoon to the same city.

Julia is a fate believer to the core. She believe there’s someone out there that’s meant to be with her. Having her parents perfect love as an example, she believes that when it’s mean to be, it will be. Continue reading
