Waiting On Wednesday: Project Cain by Geoffrey Girard

“Waiting on” Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights an upcoming release we are greatly anticipating.

This week’s selection is:

Book: Project Cain

Author: Geoffrey Girard

Release Date: September 3rd 2013

Goodreads | Amazon| B&N

Book Description:

Fifteen-year-old Jeff Jacobson had never heard of Jeffrey Dahmer, the infamous serial killer who brutally murdered seventeen people more than twenty years ago. But Jeff’s life changes forever when the man he’d thought was his father hands him a government file telling him he was constructed in a laboratory only seven years ago, part of a top-secret government cloning experiment called ‘Project CAIN’.

There, he was created entirely from Jeffrey Dahmer’s DNA. There are others like Jeff—those genetically engineered directly from the most notorious murderers of all time: The Son of Sam, The Boston Strangler, Ted Bundy . . . even other Jeffrey Dahmer clones. Some raised, like Jeff, in caring family environments; others within homes that mimicked the horrific early lives of the men they were created from.

When the most dangerous boys are set free by the geneticist who created them, the summer of killing begins. Worse, these same teens now hold a secret weapon even more dangerous than the terrible evil they carry within. Only Jeff can help track the clones down before it’s too late. But will he catch the ‘monsters’ before becoming one himself?

Why I’m waiting:

I’m not much of a thriller reader, I like to stick to contemporary or paranormal romance, but the cover got me, and then after reading the description I was trapped. It sounds seriously interesting and I’m really excited to read it. It’s not something I’ve heard before, it seems like a pretty original idea to me and I’m looking forward to checking it out.

So, what are you waiting on?  Leave a comment with your WoW link below and I’ll make sure to check it out!

Cover Reveal: The Liberator (Dante Walker #2) by Victoria Scott

Yes, you read it right! We are revealing the cover for the second Dante Walker novel, right about now. Are you excited? I sure am, and I haven’t even read the first book yet. Crazy, right? Well, you wouldn’t think so if you’d read the blurb for The Collector.

Wait. *Stares*

You haven’t read about The Collector, yet? *Gasp* Where were you? Living under a rock? Okay, that’s harsh. Mostly. But true. Anyhow. We don’t have a blurb for The Liberator as of now, but we’ll be getting one in April, excited much? YES! Still, here’s a note from the author, Victoria Scott that’ll get you by until you get to read the first book and then maybe, just maybe, help you cope with waiting for the second 😉

Hey guys! While I can’t reveal many details yet, I will say this book was enormously emotional to write. More action, new characters, higher stakes, and a whole lot of sexy. I hope you enjoy reading the next chapter of Dante Walker’s story!

By the way, Dante wants me to tell you…”Things only get darker from here, doll. Might want to hold my hand for this.”

Okay. I admit it, it might not be a very good help on the coping situation but it’s something. Right? *Shrug*

Are you wondering why I’m still talking? Yes? Have you guessed why? No? Well, it’s because Dante is MINE, so you better remember this as you take a peek at the newly released cover for The Liberator.  Remember it!

Now, without further ado, check it out! Continue reading

Of course, it’s not simple. One night Ben broke his own rule about getting involved with an employee. And now Anna is pregnant. She refuses to let him use the baby as a reason for them to reconcile. It will take an act of persuasion to convince her they belong together…and not only because of the baby.

My Review:

I’m not sure about much at the moment. I’m not sure how to rate it or how I really feel about this book. Continue reading

Review: Six Earlier Days by David Levithan

Book: Six Earlier Days

Author: David Levithan

Published: November, 2012

My Rating: 5/5

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N

Book Description:

‘In Every Day, New York Times bestselling author David Levithan presented readers with his most ambitious novel to date: Every morning, A wakes up in a different body and leads a different life. A must never get too attached, must never be noticed, must never interfere.

The novel Every Day starts on Day 5994 of A’s life. In this digital-only collection Six Earlier Days, Levithan gives readers a glimpse at a handful of the other 5993 stories yet to be told that inform how A navigates the complexities of a life lived anew each day.

In Every Day, readers discover if you can truly love someone who is destined to change every day. In Six Earlier Days, readers will discover a little bit more about how A became that someone.

My Review:

Sometimes I wonder if it is possible to convey so much emotion in so little words. The answer is yes, and Six Earlier Days is the perfect example.

If there is a person capable of doing that is David Levithan. I still remember myself crying reading The Lover’s Dictionary over one sentence chapters. He can say so much with almost no words at all. His work gets to me like very few others have. Continue reading
