My Review:

I still don’t know how I feel about this book.

Overprotected? That’s an understatement. I just can’t believe I read all of it at all. It had good and bad parts, the problem was the bad parts were B-A-D! Continue reading

Review: Back to You by Priscilla Glenn

Book: Back to You

Author: Priscilla Glenn

Published: October, 2012

My Rating: 5/5

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N

Book Description:

When Lauren Monroe first laid eyes on Michael Delaney back in high school, she had every reason to stay away from him; within minutes of their first encounter, his volatile actions confirmed his notorious reputation. But Lauren saw something in him that caused her to question his bad-boy persona, and against her better judgment, she took a chance. She had no way of knowing that the unlikely friendship they formed would become so important to her.

Or that it would end so painfully.

Eight years later, when Lauren begins her new job at Learn and Grow Day Care, Michael is the last person she expects to see. Refusing to revisit the hurt and confusion of their past, Lauren vows to keep her distance from him. But staying away from Michael proves to be more difficult than she thought, despite her lingering grief and her instincts for self-preservation.

As Lauren and Michael recall the friendship that changed them forever and the events that tore them apart, will they finally be able to heal? Or will the ghosts of Michael’s past prove to be too much to overcome?

My Review:

I think all the studying I’ve been doing, plus the excitement of finally having vacations burned my brain cells, hence why it took me so long to write a review… or trying to do it…

Here we go…

Wait. No. Before we get into it let me just say one thing: I fucking LOVED it. There. It’s done. Now I can move on.

Back To You was beyond amazing. An emotional rollercoaster on the best sense possible. It’s been a while since I finished it, like half a month, and I’m still all over the place just by remembering the amazingness of it all.

Well, I read it again between then and now actually, just so I could remember every detail perfectly, and cry again. I’m such a woos! Continue reading

Review: Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill

Book: Meant to Be

Author: Lauren Morrill

Published: November, 2012

My Rating: 5/5

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N

Book Description:

Meant to be or not meant to be . . . that is the question.

It’s one thing to fall head over heels into a puddle of hazelnut coffee, and quite another to fall for the—gasp—wrong guy. Straight-A junior Julia may be accident prone, but she’s queen of following rules and being prepared. That’s why she keeps a pencil sharpener in her purse and a pocket Shakespeare in her, well, pocket. And that’s also why she’s chosen Mark Bixford, her childhood crush, as her MTB (“meant to be”).

But this spring break, Julia’s rules are about to get defenestrated (SAT word: to be thrown from a window) when she’s partnered with her personal nemesis, class-clown Jason, on a school trip to London. After one wild party, Julia starts receiving romantic texts . . . from an unknown number! Jason promises to help discover the identity of her mysterious new suitor if she agrees to break a few rules along the way. And thus begins a wild goose chase through London, leading Julia closer and closer to the biggest surprise of all: true love.

Because sometimes the things you least expect are the most meant to be.

My Review:

Meant To Be was sweet, adorable, infuriating and amazing. You’ll see why…

Julia is a bookworm. There’s not really a better way to describe her. And I’m not saying that’s a bad thing, because saying so would be like offending myself, since I consider myself a bookworm to the bone.

Julia likes to read. She’s a Shakespeare lover. She’s a rule follower. And she hates flying, children and… Jason Lippincott.

On her spring break trip to London, all Julia wants is to explore the city and all the magnificent places her guidebooks tell her about. Not to mention visit all the places her parents visited on their honeymoon to the same city.

Julia is a fate believer to the core. She believe there’s someone out there that’s meant to be with her. Having her parents perfect love as an example, she believes that when it’s mean to be, it will be. Continue reading

Review: The Billionaire Bum by Samantha Blair

Book: The Billionaire Bum

Author: Samantha Blair

Published: March 2011

My Rating: 2/5

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N

Book Description:

Billionaire businessman Jackson Hayes finds himself in a difficult situation one night after making a crazy bet with his brother and business partner. Can he survive one week living like he’s homeless? What will he learn about life and love along the way? A romantic comedy that will warm your heart and open your eyes.

My Review:

I don’t even know how to rate this book.

I was intrigued by the cover of course, and the description. I know following books because of its cover ain’t wise, but damn! Most of the time good covers equal good books. Not this time though.

It wasn’t that the book sucked, per se. It just wasn’t really good… I guess that means it sucked? Meh. Continue reading

Review: Losing It by Cora Carmack

Book: Losing It

Author: Cora Carmack

Published: October 15th 2012

My Rating: 4/5

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N

Book Description:

Virginity.

Bliss Edwards is about to graduate from college and still has hers. Sick of being the only virgin among her friends, she decides the best way to deal with the problem is to lose it as quickly and simply as possible– a one-night stand. But her plan turns out to be anything but simple when she freaks out and leaves a gorgeous guy alone and naked in her bed with an excuse that no one with half-a-brain would ever believe. And as if if that weren’t embarrassing enough, when she arrives for her first class of her last college semester, she recognizes her new theatre professor. She’d left him naked in her bed about 8 hours earlier.

My Review:

Losing It was a great book. I’m still grinning just thinking about it, and I finished reading it last night.

Bliss Edwards is almost done with her college career and she’s still a virgin. What a dilemma. She’s fun, sometimes a little shy and self-conscious but pretty hilarious if she wants to be. She was DYING pretty often, and that just made me laugh. It kind of made me think of myself with my OMG-ing all the time. Yup, Bliss is definitely my kind of girl. Well, she’s an actress, too, so it was to be expected. Maybe. Continue reading

Review: On One Condition by Diane Alberts

Book: On One Condition

Author: Diane Alberts

Published: February 2012

My Rating: 4/5

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N

Book Description:

Kindergarten teacher Johanna hates Valentine’s Day. She hates romance, hates commercialism, and definitely hates her school’s annual charity date auction. She never expects her pre-auction night of drinking to land a sexy Brit in her bed. Or for that Brit to show up at the auction, bid thousands just to talk to her again, and get down on one knee in front of everyone and ask her to marry him.

Viscount Damon Haymes has never met anyone like Johanna. She’s neurotic, fascinating, and fun. She also doesn’t care about his title and doesn’t want his money, which makes Johanna perfect to fulfill a surprise clause in his father’s will: marry within three months and remain married for a year, or lose his fortune. A relationship is out of the question, but when passions ignite and the two fall in love, their marriage of convenience becomes anything but

My Review:

Ah! I’m in love. With Damon.

Joanne is a kindergarten teacher in her mid-twenties. She has a strong personality, and is pretty stubborn, but she has a huge kind heart. She also happens to hate Valentine’s Day to the core. So what happens when she wakes up on the very day with a man in her bed? A man she didn’t even remember bringing home the night before? What happens? She kicks him out, without as much as a look. Strong personality I tell you, and strong will to kick someone like him out. Continue reading

Review: Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

Book: Anna and the French Kiss

Author: Stephanie Perkins

Published: December 2010

My Rating: 4/5

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N

Book Description:

Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris – until she meets Etienne St. Clair: perfect, Parisian (and English and American, which makes for a swoon-worthy accent), and utterly irresistible. The only problem is that he’s taken, and Anna might be, too, if anything comes of her almost-relationship back home. As winter melts into spring, will a year of romantic near – misses end with the French kiss Anna – and readers – have long awaited?

My Review:

I’m so glad I read Anna and the French Kiss. I need to read more books that draw you in and make you grin so hard your cheeks hurt. I need to read more books that are this sweet, that leave you with this sense of happiness that’s not easy to shake. Because that’s how this book made me feel. Happy.

It had its fair share of broken hearts and misunderstandings, but nothing can rival to the joy you feel when you finish reading it. It was sweet, and cute, and perfect. Continue reading
