Book Description:

Who’s the sexy blonde stranger sleeping in Simon Holcroft’s bed? The workaholic returns from a business trip to find someone stretched out on his sheets. Between the laundry basket at her side and the smell of orange cleaner, he deduces that the young woman is his maid-and resists the urge to kiss her awake.

But when his brother’s fiancé-his own ex-bursts in and strips down to her panties, Simon has to get her dressed and back where she belongs. So he introduces the maid as his fiancée. But his little white lie gets bigger, because now he has to bring his supposed bride-to-be to meet the whole family. One offer-she-can’t-refuse later, Simon has bought himself a temporary fiancée.

In debt up to her eyeballs and all alone for the holidays, how could struggling grad student Caroline Sampson not accept her gorgeous client’s fantasy proposal? But acting like she’s in love comes more easily than she ever expected.

My Review:

Oh my! I don’t know where to start. I’m actually really tempted to just spill all the magnificence His Secret Temptation was, but I’ll take it easy, for all of our sake’s.

His Secret Temptation starts rather great. If I’m being completely honest I loved the beginning more than anything else. There’s nothing like arriving home to find a gorgeous blonde woman sleeping in your bed, is there Simon? Or that’s what I would think if I were a boy, but I’m not. Whatever. I get you, Simon, no worries. So that’s how the story starts off, with Caroline fast asleep on Simon’s oh-so-comfy-and-great-smelling-bed. Yummy . After a startled wake Simon and Caroline get an unexpected guest, breaking their clear attraction. Can we say swoon? Or maybe I should have said shit? *giggle*

Review: Wrecked by Anna Davies

Book:Wrecked

Author: Anna Davies

Published: May 2012

My Rating: 2/5

GoodReads | Amazon | B&N

Book Description:

Secrets of the sea have never been sexier than this. Ever since the death of her parents, Miranda has lived on Whym Island, taking comfort in the local folklore, which claims a mysterious sea witch controls the fate of all on the island and in its surrounding waters. Sometimes it’s just easier to believe things are out of your control.

But then a terrible boating accident takes the lives of several of her friends, and Miranda is rescued by a mysterious boy who haunts her dreams. Consumed by guilt from the accident, she finds refuge in late-night swims—and meets Christian, a boy who seems eerily familiar, but who is full of mystery: He won’t tell her where he is from, or why they can only meet at the beach. But Miranda falls for him anyway…and discovers that Christian’s secrets, though meant to protect her, may bring her nothing but harm.

My Review:

I really expected more from this book, what with the description and the first few chapters I was really excited about it. Actually, I was ecstatic! I think prospect of what might happen, and how it would unfold lead me to set my expectations far too high. It is also the first time I read a book about mermaids and what-not, but I’m always open to new genres so I believe that wasn’t the problem.

This is also the very first time I write a ‘bad’ review, and I’m sad about it, but there are things we just can’t avoid. English is not my first language so I’m not one to speak of flaws or mistakes, or whatever-you-want-to-call-them. I am not one to notice them either, because when a story is good I don’t even pay attention to such details, but with Wrecked it was impossible not to notice them.

Book Description:

Anna lightheartedly agrees to the game, but there’s something she hasn’t told Frankie–she’s already had her romance, and it was with Frankie’s older brother, Matt, just before his tragic death one year ago.TWENTY BOY SUMMER explores what it truly means to love someone, what it means to grieve, and ultimately, how to make the most of every beautiful moment life has to offer.

My Review:

I read this book quite some time ago, and considering this is my first review in the blog, it seemed only fair.

I liked this book a lot. It has the power to bring you to tears and make you grin like an idiot at the same time. For me a book is good when you can feel what the character’s feel, so Twenty Boy Summer is a very good book. Continue reading
