Stacking the Shelves #13

Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga at Tynga’s Reviews. It’s all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. You can include books you buy in physical stores or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and ebooks.

This is what I got this week:

Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor

Before I go on with my list of books of the week can I just stop a second and: EEEEKKKKKKK!!! This is probably my most awaited book of the year. No scratch that! It is THE most awaited book of the year for me. And I got it in e-book and audiobook, too! Listening to Daughter of Smoke and Bone was such an amazing experience I couldn’t resist. Sad part is I have exams and I can’t read it right now, but I will. No matter the cost! 😉 Continue reading

Happy Birthday… to me!

Yup, today is my birthday and I turn 21! Yay me! 😉

(I know you’re seeing the number 22, but for my sake I needed Rob with me on my birthday so, you know… deal with it!)

Given the big occasion, and that I’ve been a succesful blogger for three full month (successful meaning I’m still here), I thought I could do a big giveaway.

What do you say? You agree? Yeah, me too!

I took my time picking the books I’ll be giving away. Since I live in Uruguay and taxes suck and I don’t have a job, I’ll be giving away ebooks, so yes, it’s international! YAY! 😀

Now to the list, and let me just tell you that they are all on my favorites list, so I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

Are you ready? Yes? Let’s do this! Continue reading

[ARC] Review: Transcend by Christine Fonseca

Book: Transcend

Author:  Christine Fonseca

Expected publication: September 18th 2012

My Rating: 5/5

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N

Book Description:

All seventeen-year-old composer Ien Montgomery desires is an escape from his family’s rigid expectations for his life; someone to inspire his music. When he meets a beautiful violin-prodigy, Kiera McDougal, his life music takes on new life. With her, he imagines a future outside of his parents’ control. That is, until a horrible accident tears them apart.

Sent to die in a sanatorium, Ien’s obsession for Kiera grows unbearable. Tortured by thoughts he can’t escape and the truth of his monstrous disfigurement, he flees, desperate to exact revenge on the people that ruined his life – his parents. But, vengeance is empty. Betrayed by those closest to him, Ien discovers that the price for his happiness may be his sanity.

My Review:

I honestly don’t know where to begin, I knew when I finished reading it over a week ago that this was going to be a hard review to write, and I was right, I’m still somewhat overwhelmed.

I know I had been eagerly waiting to read this book for months, and though I’m not completely sure just what I expected, I’m so very happy to say that I was not disappointed, not in the slightest. Not even a little bit.

I fell in love with the cover instantly, and after reading the description all I knew was that I had to read it. And then I won a signed copy (thank you Christine!) and there was no stopping my eagerness.

I still am…

And now to the review! Continue reading

Feature & Follow #5

The Feature & Follow is a blog hop hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read, it’s a great way to gain new followers and make new friends.

Q: What are you reading right now? How do you like it?

Right now I’m reading Transcend by Christine Fonseca and Crash by Nicole Williams.

As you should know from my WoW post from last week, I was dying to read Transcend, but I had to wait till my copy got here after the 18th (I won a giveaway). So how come I’m reading it right now? Easy, because Christine Fonseca is freaking awesome! She gave me an ebook version of Transcend as well. YAY!! And do I like it? No! I love it! I actually finished it just now. Man! It’s so good!

Now, on Crash. I started reading a few days ago but I had to stop to read Transcend and to get up to date with school, sadly. But so far so good! Actually, more than good. Jude is so damn sexy!

This is an especial Waiting on Wednesday because I’ve actually won this book on a giveaway last week. Yay for me! But I won’t be getting it until it’s released, so duh! As you can see it’s still not yet available for purchase (at least not on Amazon or B&N) and I have no idea why, but I invite you to check it on goodreads and drive yourself crazy while waiting with me.
