Cover Reveal: Trapped (Here Trilogy #2) by Ella James

Title: Trapped (Here Trilogy #2)

Author: Ella James

Expected release date: December 2012

Genre and Age Group: YA, Paranormal Romance

Cover reveal organized by: SupaGurl Tours

Book Description:

Contains mild spoilers if you haven’t read Here, the first book in the trilogy.

When Milo Mitchell falls for the beautiful, tuxedo-clad guy she found wandering her family’s rural Colorado property, she never dreamed he was a scout from another galaxy, or that their relationship would leave him with an impossible choice: eradicating humankind, or initiating the end of his own people.

Nick’s job is finding the elements his people need to power their elaborate interweb of minds. Being a scout means he is capable of traveling to other planets on his own. It also means that, unlike The Rest, he has access to primitive feelings and individual desires. For eons, he was part of the whole, but when he encountered Milo, his obsession with her changed everything.

Nick’s partner, Vera, is capable of independent thought, but not compelled by it. She is satisfied with her existence as one of The Rest, and she won’t agree that humans are worth sparing; not when their planet has a precious cache of the gold her people need so badly.

While Vera tries to force Nick into endorsing an Earth invasion, working behind the scenes to tie his hands, and the Department of Defense lays a trap for them with Milo’s mom as bait, Nick and Milo are waging their own war – against a primal desire that can only lead to one thing: heartbreak. Cover Reveal: Incendiary (The Premonition #4) by Amy A. Bartol

Title: Incendiary (The Premonition #4) by Amy A. Bartol

Author: Amy A. Bartol

Expected release date: Nov 30, 2012 (E-book release: Dec. 7th)

Genre and Age Group: YA, Paranormal Romance

Cover reveal organized by: SupaGurl Tours

Book Description:

Cold, fine drops of rain fall softly on my cheeks as I emerge from the darkness of the ship’s interior to the gray, overcast sky of the main deck. Pulling my dark pea coat tighter to my body, the wind lifts red tendrils of my hair. I walk slowly to the railing overlooking the water.

I catch my first sight of the Irish coastline; its craggy landscape makes me shiver in dread. I find it difficult to imagine now how the Gancanagh had made this their home for so long without anyone realizing it. The cold, moss-covered edifices practically scream their presence. As I study the shadows between the falling-down stone, I imagine creeping shapes of undead Faeries grasping the rock, waiting for our ship to draw nearer to their position.

Tipping my face up, I let the rain wash over me. It bathes away the frigid sweat of fear that has broken on my brow. “You don’t know how fiercely beautiful you are, do you?” A quiet voice behind me asks, causing me to stiffen and fix my eyes on the rocks along the shoreline.

About the Author:

I live in Michigan with my husband and our two sons. My family is very supportive of my writing. When I’m writing, they often bring me the take-out menu so that I can call and order them dinner. They listen patiently when I talk about my characters like they’re real. They rarely roll their eyes when I tell them I’ll only be a second while I finish writing a chapter…and then they take off their coats. They ask me how the story is going when I surface after living for hours in a world of my own making. They have learned to accept my “writing uniform” consisting of a slightly unflattering pink fleece jacket, t-shirt, and black yoga pants. And they smile at my nerdy bookishness whenever I try to explain urban fantasy to them. In short, they get me, so they are perfect and I am blessed.

So, what do you think? I’m in love of course. As a fan of this series, this is a very awaited book for me, even if I have to read the previous book to this one. I have this thing that I need to have all books in a series before reading them. So, yes, I can’t wait!

[Existence – Book #1 Review]

[Predestined – Book #2 Review]

Book Description:

Can he make her fall in love with him… again?

When Pagan Moore proved worthy of Death’s devotion, he was given the gift of getting to keep her.

But Dank was never promised that Pagan would keep him.

When a soul is created, so is its mate. In every lifetime those souls find each other. They complete the other’s destiny. It’s time for Pagan’s soul to choose if she truly wants an eternity at Death’s side or if she wants the mate created just for her.

Dank didn’t think he had to worry about her choice. He knew where her heart belonged. Until he realized that every kiss, every touch, every moment of their time together would be washed from her memories. He would have to win her heart all over again and prove to her soul that he was where she belonged.

If only her soul’s mate wasn’t right there standing in his way.

My Review:

[Note: If you haven’t read the first book in the series, be warned. You might find unavoidable spoilers.]

It’s over! I think I’m sad that this series is over already. I first read Existence on May of this year, it’s been only four months and it’s over.

It’s the first series I’ve completed in a long time. If I look back I think it’s the first series I complete since Twilight, which is saying a lot (wait, there was also Fifty Shades, but I’d rather forget about that one). I’ve started lots and lots of series since then, but this is the only one I’ve had the courage to actually finish.

I think it’s safe to say now, that the Existence Trilogy is one of my favorite series. And Ceaseless was an amazing end to it. It was –dare I say –pretty prefect.

[Existence – Book #1 Review]

Book Description:

You would think after helping save her boyfriend from an eternity in Hell that things would go back to normal. Well, as normal as life can be when you can see souls and your boyfriend is Death. But for Pagan Moore, things are just getting weirder.

The high school quarterback and reigning heartthrob, Leif Montgomery, is missing. While the town is in a frenzy of worry, Pagan is a nervous wreck for other reasons. Apparently good ‘ol Leif isn’t your average teenage boy. He isn’t even human. According to Death, Leif doesn’t have a soul. The quarterback may have skipped town but he’s still showing up in Pagan’s dreams… uninvited.

Dank has known from the beginning Leif wasn’t human. But he hadn’t worried about a simple soulless creature. Now, he realizes he made a grave mistake. Pagan’s soul has been marked since birth as a restitution, to a spirit so dark not even Death walks near it. Dank knows saving Pagan’s soul won’t be easy but Pagan is his. And he’s already proven he’ll defy Heaven to keep her. If Hell wants a piece of him too, then bring it on.

My Review:

[Note: If you haven’t read the first book in the series, be warned. You might find unavoidable spoilers.]

Predestined is the amazing follow-up to Existence. It starts (sort of) were we stopped in Existence… to the knowledge that Leif is not exactly human. Okay, he’s not human. Period.

So what is he? We learn the answer to this question pretty early in the book. As a matter of fact, we learn the answer to this question in the prologue. So you don’t have to go on suffering for long, if that was what was keeping you from reading this book, like in my case. I’m a bit of a chicken sometimes. Why yes, I admit it.

Review: Angel Evolution (Evolution Trilogy #1) by David Estes

Book:  Angel Evolution

Author:  David Estes

Published: October 2011

My Rating: 3/5

GoodReads | Amazon | B&N

Book Description:

When Taylor meets Gabriel at college, she is in awe of the subtle glow that surrounds him. No one else, not even her best friend, seems to notice.

Something about him scares her.

Is all as it appears? While Taylor struggles for answers, she finds herself in the middle of a century old war centered on one miraculous revelation: evolution.

My Review:

Okay. Let’s start by explain my problem with the ratings for this particular book. I couldn’t give Angel Evolution four stars along with some books I love to death, but three stars doesn’t feel like quite enough (it’s more of a 3.5), so I would say you ignore the rating and just read the review. I tend to be contradicting sometimes. Who cares? Just read it

Angel Evolution has a pretty different take on angels and demons from what I’m used to. And before you narrow your eyes at me, let me just tell you that different isn’t always bad. As a matter of fact, different is most of the time good. Like Taylor.

Review: Existence (Existence Trilogy #1) by Abbi Glines

Book: Existence (Existence Trilogy #1)

Author:  Abbi Glines

Published: December 2011

My Rating: 5/5

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N

Book Description:

Seventeen year old Pagan Moore has seen souls her entire life. Once she realized the strangers she often saw walking through walls were not visible to anyone else, she started ignoring them. If she didn’t let them know she could see them, then they left her alone. Until she stepped out of her car the first day of school and saw an incredibly sexy guy lounging on a picnic table, watching her with an amused smirk on his face. Problem is, she knows he’s dead.

Not only does he not go away when she ignores him, but he does something none of the others have ever done. He speaks. Pagan is fascinated by the soul. What she doesn’t realize is that her appointed time to die is drawing near and the wickedly beautiful soul she is falling in love with is not a soul at all.

He is Death and he’s about to break all the rules.

My Review:

So, I think I need to say first, that when I finished reading Existence I was freaking the f*ck out, and then some.

Why you ask? For starters I didn’t want to accept it was over. That good enough for you? Seriously, I think I’ve never read a book so fast! Considering English is not my first language (and if you didn’t know this now you know, yay!) and I’m a pretty slow reader no matter what I read, I was really socked with myself after Existence.

But who cares about my reading speed! I’m getting carried away. Continue reading

Review: Awakened (The Guardian Legacy #1) by Ednah Walters

Book: Awakened  (The Guardian Legacy #1)

Author: Ednah Ealters

Published: August 2010

My Rating: 4/5

GoodReads | Amazon | B&N

Book Description:

Most teens turn sixteen and get the license to drive, but Lil Falcon gets the license to kill demons. Orphaned as a child and raised by an eccentric grandfather, Lil is concerned with surviving high school and is unaware that she’s a Guardian-a being with super powers charged with killing demons and protecting humanity. When she meets Bran, a mysterious boy with amazing abilities, his psi energy unlocks her latent powers. But Bran has a secret that can ruin their growing relationship, and the truth she discovers may destroy everything she believes in unless she finds the right balance between love and sacrifice.

My Review:

I’ve been staring at my computer screen for the past hour or so and trying to think of how to write this review. I’m not usually this blocked, but man I don’t know how to put everything I just read into words…

Awakened takes on quite a different side of the demons and guardians subject. What with the incredible abilities and what not, well… I found it rather intriguing, I really liked it. It took me a little while to really get into it, but then I was hooked, and boy was it hard to stop! I have this habit of not stopping until I’m finished with a book, but when in the middle of midterms that’s never a good idea, so stopping was pretty hard.
